The Genthry JS Semihollow is our semi-hollow body electric guitar; based on a traditional jazz box shape with double rounded cutaways, It is neither hollow nor solid. Instead, a solid Maple wood block runs through the center of its body, but the sides are hollow, sporting violin-style f-holes. Genthry Semihollow greets you with a solid and weighty feeling guitar that points reassuringly towards good, sturdy construction. In this respect, it is, in fact, semi-solid not the term semi-acoustic.

The Genthry JS Semihollow's lines are exquisitely balanced, enhanced by perfectly placed F-holes. The gently sculpted arch adds to its organic feel while white binding around the top, back, and fretboard tastefully frame it. Transparent bell knobs, a multi-ply black-and-white pickguard, plus elegant logo and holly headstock inlays are set off by nickel hardware including an ABR like tune-o-matic bridge thin post, stopbar tailpiece, pickup covers, and sealed keystones tuners.

About playing this Genthry Semihollow is the wide-open access to the higher registers. The JS Semihollow offers such unrestricted access above the 12th fret. The heel isn't noticeable until the 17th fret and the cutaways extend all the way to the 20st fret. Having room for the thumb makes it a lot easier to fret in the higher registers.

The Genthry JS Semihollow and other semi-hollowbody guitars have a rather distinctive, "woody" sound, mellower than solid-bodies, but retain their high sustain with a solid piece of Maple wood through the center section, just wider than the pickups and surrounds and low feedback. Due to their sonic flexibility, JS Semihollows have found popularity in nearly all genres of popular music, including jazz, blues, and rock.

The Neck and Body joint certainly looks and feels solid enough to withstand years of faithful service, In this case, opts for the Bold, elongated design and scripted logo Design, all adding to the Genthry Semihollow's charming vintage character. The Rosewood Fingerboard with block inlays, It's all a matter of taste, but we love the simplicity and function that Genthry Semihollows breathe over the guitars they adorn.

The hardware is chrome plated, which won't tarnish as nicely as nickel, but again, its down to cost. There are two design, quality humbuckers, a tune-o-matic bridge and stop tailpiece or trapeze tailpiece and a set of modern-looking Keystones machine heads.
We've heard many players say they didn't think they'd get on with a big semi, because they're too, big. Our advice is: go and play one! The body isn't much fatter than a Strat, for example, and standing or sitting, the Genthry Semihollow feels comfortable to hold and play.
The neck, while by no means clubby, feels substantial in your palm, probably due to the 43mm width at the nut. Its slightly flattened C-profile Slim Rounded Profile increases marginally in depth further up the neck, making for a suitably vintage feel and because this guitar is semi-hollow it’s very easy on the back.

Genthry Semihollow comes with fitted set of  009- 042 strings. Intonation and string actions are all adjustable and can be setup to your preference, not too high to make complicated runs a problem, not too low to be detrimental to the tone.. Our factory fitted nut is just wonderful.
An acoustic strum issues forth a pleasing, resonant ring. Genthry Semihollow's all-maple construction has allow to do with that, but more obviously, the hollow bouts bolster the acoustic tone. Hence when plugged in it gives a distinctive hollowbody an exceptionally warm tone, as well as pleasing overtones and a woody, resonant sound – in a word, great harmonic richness. Genthry Semihollow is no exception: the pickups, offer everything form smooth and moody, front-position mellowness to screeching, bridge position roar. Played clean, jazzers will love the neck position; roll the tone off a little for instant Wes Montgomery, turn it up for a more defined sound that remains warm throughout. The middle position offers a definite 'clang' to the tone, and strummers will find all they need here. Flick to the bridge pickup, pile on the dirty stuff, and turn your stack to 10 and the combination of gain and its semi-solid construction transforms the Genthry Semihollow into a monster.

It has four controls, two volume and two-tone knobs, one for each of the two humbuckers (this is the only pickup configuration available). Some models have a factory-fitted Bigsby vibrato system. The Genthry JS Semihollow is available in a variety of finishes, but most of the guitars are in a natural, walnut or cherry finish. Genthry SC Custom guitars are works of art and modern production. The SC Custom guitar is probably the most recognised, and preferred guitar design.



The extra over a standard or traditional is the finest workmanship money can buy. Sure, there are a couple of extra flourishes in Genthry SC Custom, like the binding on the headstock, which does a lovely job of complementing the body and neck binding, and a slightly thicker body design and a double body binding with Gold Hardware and a bigger headstock. We use Ebony Wood for the Fingerboard because they are generally favoured by guitarists who prefer a very bright, razor sharp top end or a very tight, well-defined low end. But really, most of the advantages of this guitar are of the kind you’d have to pick up the guitar and feel to appreciate. Today’s SC Custom Custom is based on the model from the mid-1950s, but with several modern appointments. The body is crafted with a hand-carved maple top, which is fitted to a body made from a solid piece of mahogany, resulting in a SC Custom with enhanced acoustic qualities and improved resonance. The 24 ¾-inch scale length neck is also made from one solid piece of mahogany wood then topped by Ebony wood fingerboard outfitted with pearl block inlays and given Genthry SC Custom’s traditional rounded slim profile.

The pickups in the neck position, which offers the tonal characteristics of the original vintage humbucker, and bridge position pickup, is slightly hotter with emphasis on mid-ranges and highs. Other appointments include Genthry SC Custom’s choice of Tune-o-matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece, metal tulip tuners, multi-ply white and black binding on both the top and back, gold hardware and a 43mm nut width. Genthry SC Custom use Mahogany wood chosen for the construction of the body because it is dense, yet relatively light. Maple was used as a top cap in quite a few of the models, as this best combination of wood for electric guitars that have define the Rock and Roll and many other genres for the sound of electric guitar.



The neck of every model is constructed of one piece of mahogany wood in Rounded Slim Neck profile that so many musicians have come to love.Our Necks are all one piece wood neck with no scarf joints. Genthry reinforces the connection between the neck and body by using the Mortis and Tenon joint, which is said to be stronger than if it were a single slab of wood. All Genthry guitars is approximately 24 3/4″ scale. Genthry uses luthier glue to form a solid connection at the Mortis and Tenon joint, and uses extremely accurate measuring devices to make sure the angles are within .005″ tolerance. The fingerboard is made of Ebony Wood and consists of 22 alloy wire frets. The markers are inlaid on fingerboard for a nice guiding and visual appearence. Sc Standard models are even tweaked by hand at the end of production so that there is a slight angle near the top of the neck and body. This gives the musician a more comfortable feel and increased playability on the Standard models and also the increase sustain in playing.



The Genthry electric guitar are finished with a special thin finish process that increases output clarity with a “natural resonance”, according to Genthry. Not only is the finish conducive to superior sound, it brings out the luster in the deepest grains of the maple top. It is considered one of the most durable and classic guitar finishes in the industry, usually enhanced by various sunburst color patterns for visual appeal. We have selected the most favourable colors that is available for you in Flametop Maple and Plaintop Maple.



Genthry SC Custom body design on models includes an arched top, flat back, double body bind and a non chambered back to add resonance. The Single Cutaway of the treble side, where the neck joint meets the body,increases playability tremendously and decreases weight. The body weighs just under 7 lbs before it is fitted with necessary hardware.



The hardware of the adds to it’s elegance and durability with Modern Keystone tuners, black/white vinyl truss rod, aluminum strap buttons, raised pickguard, bell knobs, and the thin post tune-omatic bridge and stop tailpiece like the ABR 1 bridge usually found in high end guitars. Our choice of Bridge Hardware allow for maximum tone performace and transfer of vibration and resonance for the guitar's wood to the pickup for the best tones.



Most Genthry electrics have two pickups. The volume and tone for these pickups are controlled by four knobs on the top of the guitar. A pickup selector switch allow total control over pickups at flick of the finger. Increased bass is achieved by reducing the treble on the tone controls, rather than increasing bass only. When turned to full treble, the guitar’s full tonal spectrum will be available with clear sounding high notes. The pickup selector switch can be moved toward the neck to enable the neck pickup only, and toward the bridge to enable the bridge pickup only. Leaving the switch in the middle position will enable both pickups. The tone and volume controls will shut off if a pickup is not activated.



The tune-o-matic bridge is standard on every model, and allow for easy adjustment of the bridge by adjusting a pair of nuts with a screwdriver. String action, Intonation and Neck Bow adjustment are all featured and available in Genthry Guitars for your preferred playability and own setup preference.

Pickups used in most Genthry electric guitars are double coil humbuckers, which were first introduced in the 1960′s to eliminate interference and hum. These humbuckers produce a sound that is very unique and intense, becoming the driving force behind the evolution of rock music. Powerful humbucker magnets are left uncovered in some models, which results in a higher output. Optional P-90 single coil pickup are available on certain few reissue models.
